Re: Turbo or ERG?

Garage just called, they've done a vacuum test and there's a split in the actuator diaphragm. Coming in at £384 to replace so I'm happy with this 👍

Re: Turbo or ERG?

That's my worry with this type of probem, what I don't want is turbo ect changing at cost of ££££££ when it's a ten bob n75 valve. What I can't understand is the intermittent nature of the fault, the fact that with the one exception of when towing the caravan it's never being saved in the ecu? Love ...

Re: Turbo or ERG?

VW seem to have gone out of their way to make the CR engine as difficult as possible to work on. They've hidden the EGR valve down the back of the engine and apparently it's a 5 hours job to replace it? and as for the actuator rod, I can't even see it let alone try to manipulate it. Changing the tur...

Re: Turbo or ERG?

This morning I took car a 20 ml blast down a local dual carriageway at 3000rpm. When home I took the air filter off and spent 20 mins carefully squirting a can of Wynn's EGR aerosol cleaner into the intake. Once done filled tank up with shell v (£1.36 a litre!!!!) And I'm just back from an 80 ml tri...

Re: Turbo or ERG?

Thank you for the input, I can check the vacuum quite easily via the pipe on the actuator but not sure how I would go about checking whether the vanes were opening, access isn't good on the CR engine? Also if it is a vacuum issue should I check out the n75 valve? (The lockdown hasn't helped, until t...
