Water in Skuttle
By skuttle I mean where the battery sits. I knew the battery was low and last night it wouldnt start. So as a temporary measure, whilst I charged it up I decided to swap in the battery from my other car(Golf) Well I discovered 3 to 4 inches of water lying in there! Was half way up the battery!!! So ...

Re: Cutting Out
Well it was not the crank sensor!
Took it to a friendly garage who discovered it was in fact the mass air sensor.
Job done and sorted last Friday.
Took crank sensor back to ECP and got a refund.

Cutting Out
2000 W reg 1.8T Sport.
Just today it has started cutting out when at very low revs or coming to a stop.
Sometimes it will idle fine at other times its waving up and down (rev counter)
Not sure on this car but my first guess is a vacuum hose?
Or if anybody knows better please advise.

Oil Sensor
I keep getting a Warning message and buzzer which says - Workshop Oils Sensor. This only happens when car is cold. At other times I do get an oil level warning flashing. Now there is plenty of oil in the engine and its of a good condition (not due for a change for 4-5 months) So what is causing this...

Re: N75 valve/solenoid
Well I think I have found it on vagcat.com!
They call it a "solenoid change-over valve" part no. 058906283C
And the two pipes its connected to go to either side of the turbo so this will sit just above the turbo.

Re: N75 valve/solenoid
Really?
I was told it was an absolute pig to change!
Down on the left. Is it easier to do from underneath?
Also what is it actually called as I have looked on vagcat and ECP to get a price and cant find anything!
Is it a valve or a solenoid?

Bad Starting and running - Cold Only
This started yesterday having trouble starting from cold. When warmed up it runs fine and starts first time when still warm, even after a few hours. So its a very cold problem. The problem, starting is a problem, needs a lot of throttle and will cut out as soon as revs drop. Will not idle. So is the...

I recently changed mine to wood. Most of it is dead easy. hardest thing is the ashtray and thats was just a lot of fiddling with a screwdriver and a bit of brute force! The centre console you have to take out the Headunit. Plus 4 torx srews behind the climate control. And to under in the cubby...

Re: ... and the love hate relationship continues....
the emissions light can be on for a huge number of reasons, even a tiny little sensor. or even a fault that hasnt been cleared properly in the past. my emissions light was on for a leaky vacuum pipe, got it sorted and then it came on again due to a fault with my air con. could be anything. thats th...

Re: Front Bumper Removal
Well the hex head bolt I can see is definitely not 10mm! Its a 5mm hex bit. (which I didnt have with me!) Once the grille was removed there are no more screws! As I said in first post everything was free except the sides. This plate/bolt I can see is not under the indicators but about 150mm back tow...
