Re: Tyre choice
Ouch sorry to hear that Gaz!
I've just had a look at those tyres and they dont seem to have a tyre size I can use
I'm going to need to buy 4 x 205/40/18 soon so keeping my options open but I'm not usually a fan of budgets thats for sure.

Probably 50-60mm at a guess. Nothing excessive but a touch more than lowering springsGazwould wrote:What mm drop are you looking for ?

Re: 312mm upgrade (now completed with pics)
Impressive. I was half expecting a question about lowering, which is actually fine if done sensibly, the cars respond very well to certain improvements, incredibly well in fact. Most people buy a tired neglected old Passat, and immediately post up wanting to slam it on cheapo coilovers, dont even d...

Re: 312mm upgrade (now completed with pics)
More often its the outer captive balljoints that wear out, or the rear lower arm inner bushing. Lemforder or Meyle HD (Heavy Duty) are thought to be the best replacements for a price, there are cheaper options but not sure if theyd be worth the added cost of polybushing. What is also worth doing is...

Yeah I have receipts for work done previously. Lower arms bushes are wearing out now so looking at replacements or new polybushes.Mindriot wrote:Appears to be ATE 288 setup as normal, disc looks a bit lipped as in worn a little.
Recently done suspension arms then
Not sure what way to go with it.

Guessing for B5 new calipers are needed
Of course it wouldn't be simple!
Something I'm considering though as my front brakes are not great.

Re: Front ARB upgrade
Holy thread resurrection batman on my behalf.
I'm looking at changing my ARB bushes on my b5 estate. Assuming I have the 4kg version. Also assuming I can get a PD130 sport estate ARB and it's a straight swap?
Thanks

Took the car in to work today to have my brakes bled as my pedal is a bit soft. It's not made to much of a difference but still needed to be done as a fair amount of air was removed from the front calipers. https://c3.staticflickr.com/1/767/31661795602_3410ea99f9_c.jpg https://c3.staticflickr.com/1/...

Anyone getting anything nice this year for their car?
This year my partner refused to buy anything for me car related
The car ends up sold and shes given up on me
Luckily I have a few bits to go on the car to treat it.

I had this when I changed 1 caliper on the rear, also changed rear disc and pads. The side with the new caliper was fine but couldn't get the piston back on the old caliper on the opposite side. Need to change that caliper too at some point. Sounds s**t but just grinded the pad back until it fit. Wa...

Re: B5 Passat PD115
Ok then if from TPS , I go 75W80 myself . The genuine stuff tends to be quite expensive . The genuine gearbox oil is a ridiculous price. Agreed but its not a job that's done frequently so a one of expense I can live with. I was more suprised at the cost of the genuine rear main oil seal, about the ...
