Re: bird poo!

gewt a car cover if your gonna leave under a tree for a while.

one removal method that usually works is soak some rag/paper towel then lay it over the stains. leave for 10-20mins then you shoudl be able to wipe the worst off.

look at the little metal pins. turn the bulbs so the pins are on the opposite contacts to where you currently have them.

If your doing your number plate bulbs you'll need to source 14.4v led's as per this thread over on passatworld... http://www.passatworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=213391" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Otherwise normal led's are liable to burn out after a few months. that...

Re: fog lights

newer mercs have led drl's around the fogs. i've also seen sum1 with them fitted to his golf at ace cafe. mercs also have a clever thing where one of their front fogs lights up to highlight the kerb. it changes sides depending on where the kerb is. some landies and rangerovers has something similar ...

Re: fog lights

maybe see if you can somehow drill a hole in the reflector of the foglight then fit a sidelight holder and wire to the other sidelights. then they'll light up but dimmer and shouldn't damage the wiring.

either that or fit LED strips in the lower grills

i didn't realise vw were so cheap. i expected them to be quite expensive. the halfrauds stuff was quite hard to find. it was in a different place to all the other oils for some reason. lucky i didn't buy theirs anyway

the really isn't built into the switch then? i read somewhere that you could just plug the wire straight into the foglight pin and that's it.

very nice work indeed. i always assumed g101 was to strong to use on paintwork. we used to use it to clean floors where i used to work and it sometimes left marks on them. i have used in arches and on wheels etc though. don't it make you feel good when a car looks so nice after a good valet.

Re: track rod ends siezed - help

you shouldn't really do much damage using heat. just be carefull not to get the area near any rubber boots to hot. heat is usually the only way if they are seized fast. take the track rod ends right off then wire brush the thread on the rack ends and coat it in copper/ally grease (once they have coo...

it is possible to pull the top of the door card back without doing any damage. put your window all the way down then grap the top lip of the door card, pull up and back at the same time. it is a tad harder to put back in put not to difficult. when you put the cable back in, make sure you slot in the...
