B5.5 not locking
Hi guys. 53 plate b5.5 estate is playing up. Drivers door is temperamental when locking and unlocking. When pressing the fob it will lock all other doors but not drivers door. If I give the knob a wiggle (on top on drivers door card) then it will usually lock. Any ideas? Climbing through the boot is...

Re: I keep twisting my knob
I have a cable tie on mine and it's still a little loose and spins slightly. I'd recommend using a jubilee clip so you can tighten it up more. yeah that'll probably be best. mine twists slightly and makes a vibrating buzzing sound. i can make the sound go away by holding the knob tight with my hand...

Re: I keep twisting my knob
Like you said, unclip the gator from the center and lift it up, if the steel crimp clip is missing you should just be able to pull your knob right off ( :p) If this is the case try re positioning it, you can use a cable tie in place of the metal crimp clip, it only holds the split ends of the knob ...

I keep twisting my knob
My gear knob twists about 10 degrees or so when putting the car in gear. not the biggest problem in the world but a tad annoying. I've seen a few other member with this so obviously a common occurrence. From a search i can see that the gaiter needs to be lifted up revealing the metal clip holding th...

Re: Weird triangular shape break pads
Turn the wheel your going to work on and just rock the sensor up and down to start with then gradually pull out. Once it's out clean it and do what I said about putting it back in then out cleaning each time. Could probably blow some air in the. If it's stupidly stiff don't bother, but expect some ...

Re: Weird triangular shape break pads
garage who did my breaks and cv boots had the car back yesterday as i mentioned the abs was playing up. i thought id pop round there instead of doing it myself incase they had broken a sensor or something which they would pay for so saves me spending more. i thought they'd have sorted it no problem ...

Re: billy b12's are on
What wheel size and tyres were you thinking of ? Tbh im not 100% sure at the moment. i just thought wider rims or spacing the wheels would fill the arches better and emphasise the lowering. i like this stance They are 9j 18" wheels but unsure what tyre size however they're definitely stretched...

Re: billy b12's are on
If lowering springs was the way i went would i need to get the tracking done afterwards or is it generally okay? i've been trawling pictures of passats on spring and coilovers and although i like the look of how low coilovers can go i think im going to chose lowering springs and wide rims to fill th...

Re: billy b12's are on
Eibach Pro will drop your Sport by 15 mm. To also visually close the gap you can space out your wheels . Hmm 15mm doesn't sound a lot as I lowered my last car about 100mm, however passats (especially sports) don't have much arch gap nor are they a high riding vehicle. Do you happen to have a pictur...

Re: billy b12's are on
Nothing less than BC , and Ohlins if you can afford them . Around a track real coilovers will out handle uprated spring shock combo mostly by reducing lean at the expense of road manners and ride quality. Can't ever beat the road compliancy of Eibach Pro with a oe Bilstein B4 , Sachs Super Touring ...

The grind i'm sure is your ABS sensor, they probably moved it about. Might need take it out and clean it or push it back in. apprantly some are really stuck on This ^, got the same on mine after a brake change still haven't sorted it but will when I do my springs, feels like the right front, does t...

Weird triangular shape break pads
Had my break pads changed on the front yesterday and when I came to look at them they seem very strange indeed. Instead of been a sort of normal rectangle shape that breaks usually are they are more triangle shaped. Please advise if these are normal/safe. They are grinding when breaking and almost a...

So managed to fit my Bluetooth headunit tonight. Started off as me just seeing if a cut up loyalty card out my wallet would work as keys to get the stereo out and when I did I went the whole hog. Couldn't be more pleased with being able to hook my phone up again. Many thanks to everyone on here who ...

Re: Brakes keep failing - not good!
Failing brake servo? If the cars vac pipe system tests out ok and youre not losing hydraulic brake fluid or have no leaks in the brake pipework and hoses, calipers etc then all I can think is servo (master cylinder etc). Youll need to inspect it all really. When was the last brake service, specific...
