thats why i didn't take it to the stealers they wanted to charge me £120 for the water pump change so i didn't trust that they wouldn't end up billing me for other work as well. i paid £390 all in from my local garage which i don't think is bad as it was a genuine timing belt kit and water pump an...

i've been reading up on the plenum drains getting blocked so i thought i might have a look on mine and make sure they are clear, am i likely to come across any problems when i disconnect the battery with either the alarm or the radio i don't have a radio code

the dealers have a special offer on at the moment £299 inc vat for a timing belt change ,i nearly took mine there untill the price with a new water pump bumped the price up to £420. my local garage did mine in the end cost my £390 but it also needed a new belt and tensioner on the alternator, so ...

damn looks like my mp3 player won't work with the head unit unless i buy a different adaper lead but they are expensive looks like it will be cheaper to just buy a secondhand ipod and use the lead that's already there.

yeah it's a gamma head unit ,it has a ipod lead going from the glove box into the back of it i was wanting to know if it was a normal phono plug on the back of the head unit i guess i could pull it out and have a look
i've got a mp3 player i would like to try and connect.

my passat has the original radio fitted it's a cassette radio but you can add a cd changer to it, in the glove box there is an ipod lead i don't have a ipod but was wondering what sort of connection is on the radio end is it a phono jack as i would like to use my mp3 player if possible

thx guys looks like it's a pd then, is the main difference between the tdi and the pd just the injectors.

from what i've read the pd engine wasn't introduced on a passat untill late 2000, but the dealer says my car is a pd engine, it was registed in oct 1999 the engine code is AJM does that make it a pd ?

i just picked up a 1999 b5 115 td se estate for a grand was a part ex at a mates garage ,car has done 153k and it looks and drives like new
the only thing that worries me is if anything goes wrong things like injectors cost the earth.
