Airbag control module

Hi guys - My airbag light in my B5.5 has been on for ages and I finally got a reader onto the car and found out that it's flagging up an airbag control module fault (can't recall the specific code, sorry). My MOT is due on 16th December.... I plan to fit an aftermarket steering wheel at some point a...

Re: Snorkel's Wagon - finally ready to be seen

Yeah, I do hate speed bumps. All the mechanics I know love them - suspension issues are now their bread and butter

Re: Snorkel's Wagon - finally ready to be seen

Wheels are 18x8.5 ET30 (rear) & ET35 (front). Yeah, the headlights definitely need polishing. It's on the to-do list. Yeah, I think I'll be raising it a bit at the front. Was planning to space the front wheels out a little so it will definitely need to come up for that but aside from that it cat...

Snorkel's Wagon - finally ready to be seen

Finally fitted my coilovers and wheels so the wagon is ready to be shown to the world. Brought the back end down a touch further after taking the photo and I think I'm probably going to space the fronts out another 5mm (and wash the car!) but here she is in all her filthy glory: https://farm4.static...

Stiff brake pedal after EGR delete

Hi guys, one of my mates had an EGR blanking plate and decided to fit it to my car last week as my EGR was gunked up and probably not doing a whole lot of good to the car anyway. After doing the delete, my brake pedal went stiff and the brakes were really poor so he took the blanking plate out and p...

Skooshers issue

Hi guys, my windscreen washer jets are playing up. I'm getting a small amount of skoosh out of the drivers side one but the pressure is extremely weak and it just sort of trickles up the screen. I'm getting nothing at all out of the passenger side skoosher.....

Anyone come across this before?

Re: Anyone handy with offset calculations?

That's really helpful guys, thank you all so much! So yeah, it looks like I'm looking at: Front - 12mm less clearance between the inside of the wheel and the strut housing with the wheel extending an extra 26mm Rear - 26mm less clearance between the inside of the wheel and the strut housing with the...

Re: Anyone handy with offset calculations?

Haha! I know mate but it's utterly pissing down out there again today and the forecast doesn't show it stopping any time soon. I hoped someone might just know as I really don't fancy taking a cold shower to find out :hyst

Re: Anyone handy with offset calculations?

Brilliant. Cheers Decker!

Any idea of the width? I got a measuring tape out and stuck it through the rim but it seemed like it was 8" wide which seems a bit much for a 15" wheel... Think the tape must be playing optical illusions on me..

Anyone handy with offset calculations?

Looking at replacing my standard alloys on the 5.5 for some 18's. Not sure what the standard alloys specs are but presumably someone on here knows? Wheels I'm looking at are: Front - 18x8.5 ET30 Rear - 18x10 ET25 Does anyone know if these are appropriate dimensions for a 5.5, and what sort of tyre s...

Catch on rear seat broken - fixable?

The handle which pulls up to release the catch on one of the rear seats in my 5.5 is broken and just pulls out completely when you lift it, without enabling the mechanism whatsoever. Is this something that's fixable?

Quick coilover question

Ordered a set of coilovers for the estate last night. Was just wondering if there's anything additional I should be looking to get to complete this job before I make a start? (For example when I did the coilovers on my E39 both pinch bolts needed replaced and apparently this is extremely common for ...
