Most passats with mudflaps, the mudflaps scrape at certain times as the mudflaps sit quite low to the ground, if its the sport model the car sits 30mm lower anyway.
When ur slammed on coilovers and ur floor , anti rollbar and sump hit the floor, thats when you have to worry

I've lost my locking wheelnut :(
Does anyone know if you can get them from the stealers? I've got a feeling I left it in one of the bolts and forgot about it, think I got distracted by a phonecall or something. So basically I need a new one, if I can get one from VW that would be ideal, saves me wellying a socket onto the bolts to ...

Re: vw losing the plot
I've had nothing but trouble with the passat, never been anything major, just little niggly faults but they wee me off no end. My last car was a Ford Focus y-reg 1.8 PETROL with 130,000 odd mile son it, and I never had 1 problem with it, and that was modded and it got absolutely hammered, and it sti...

Went to a body shop on the way to the shop today just to get an idea as to how much it will cost to colour code bump strips on my B5. This guy came out, i told him what i want doing, straight away he replied- Nah, we don't do it. Too much of a pain in the bum :? I thought all right then, i asked hi...

Fixed my judder problem!!!! :O
Now then, my passat has been pissing me off for about 6 months with a judder problem when giving it some beans. I had the cv joints changed and it went away for a few weeks and then came back, so I thought they had went again. However they hadn't. I then thought the worst and that the dual mass flyw...

Re: IDEAS FOR NEW TYPES OF LIGHTS !!
Why does no1 do the crystal lights for the Passats? Crystal lights look clean on bmw's, mk3 golfs etc. By crystal i mean the clear-coloured ones, not the rubbish white ones like what you see on corsa etc. I mean this style of light, if you get what I mean; http://www.bimmerboard.com/members/q/origin...

have a look in the advice bits at the top of each page,my money is on the m.a.f. sensor...reason being is they are a common part for failing on passats, and mine was the same symptoms, replaced m.a.f. and it was back to normal.......you can upgrade to a mercedes m.a.f sensor which is same sort of pri...

Re: CV joint...how long?....not again:(
what i did with mine is i fitted some boots of a peugeot 306 gti6 over my joints. as the gti6 boots allow for a better turning circle...therefore less chance of splitting also cheaper coz its french  They a straight fit like mate? Sick of seeing cv grease all over me newly refurbed alloys lol.

Might do it in two stages, just get the front bags first to help with speedbumps etc.

5 weeks on and my passenger one has gone again, theyve got a 1 year warranty so should get a free one, but its such a ball ache.
It must have something to do with the car being on the deck.
I've only had the car since november and have already changed 5 cv joints.

I'm looking into getting airride, I'm fairly certain I can do it all myself, the only thing I will need to buy are the airbags, everything else can be *ahem* aquired from work lol.
Anyone know where you can buy the airbags only???

My arches are rolled, im currently running 30mm per side spacers on et37 8x18 inch wheels, with 215/35/18 tyres but im slammed to the ground, I dont think I'll need such big a stretch.

HELP: What tyre size do I need?
OK, So I have bought some 19 inch Mercedes Turbines on Ebay. Fronts are 8.5' wide Rears are 9.5' wide. But. They have HUGE tyres on. Fronts have 245/45/19 Rears have 275/40/19 What size would be best on a b5.5 passat? I was thinking 235/30/19 for fronts and 265/30/19 for the rears???? Not fussed if ...
