Another 2 stroke question

As in title. I've seen that most people use a Jason fb spec oil but I've got Jason fd fully synthetic spec that I run my crosser on, will that be ok for my passat?

I swapped my injectors over with the old seals and just sprayed everything in copious amounts of wd40 and used the old bolts and mine has done 30k with no problems

Re: Chris's b5.5 wagon

I never found out tbh I think it may of been Headgasket but it worked out cheaper to get a new engine. But today I had to get a new alternator and battery fitted as im away from my workshop which cost £350 :(

Chris's b5.5 wagon

I've been on here a while now with my problematic passat but I've finally got round to sorting it and I've just put a new engine in it. The car has done 188k but the new engine has done 70k so hopfully she last me for a good few years http://i1202.photobucket.com/albums/bb368/chris_d_1986/Mobile%20U...

Re: injector swap

The injectors had already been removed from the engine before I bought it that's why I had to swap them and I never knew that there was so much involved

injector swap

I've just put a new engine in my tdi 130 passat on a 2001 plate with the awx engine but typical not having injectors like most of the engines on ebay amd I've had to fit my injectors into it. My question is how do I set the rockers without a dial guage as i don't have one and none of my local garage...

That is correct. So he just cleaned it up and put it back on but he's heard that you can get them done and run a thicker gasket

Re: How do

Welcome along, that does seem to be top end money for that year but I got my 2001 tdi estate for 300 with a blown head gasket but if it's clean enough and got plenty of history it could be the best 700 you have spent

Re: Someone tried stealing bumper!

Yer I've had my fair share of car parts stolen from my cars in the past but I did grow up in Merseyside but possibly the worst was a windscreen out of my nova when I was 17 was nicked but I found out who done it and stole it back :hyst

Re: strange coolant issue update!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well after today's behaviour of using 7 litres of water in 18 miles and the mrs said when I drove off it was emitting a fair bit of white smoke I think that the head gasket was never done properly as I hit a fairly steep hill aswell and the temp shot up and the heaters went stone cold and never went...

Finally had a chance to spend some time on it today. The system wil presurise but dosnt seem to be circulating well if at all but I've got hot air coming in through the heaters, it currently has no thermostat in and I've taken a few of the smaller hoses and blown a airline down them but still no joy...

Re: overheating/losing coolant

You don't get electric viscous fans, its pointless as one is electrically driven operated by coolant temp/switch and the other is mechanically driven by fan belt/pulley, operated by the air temp around the fan pulley. I think all Passats have electric fans mounted on the radiator and wouldn't have ...

I'd get the power flex ones as they make a big difference, I put them on my nova and it was money well spent and you won't be disappointed. There new black series bushes are ment to be the holy grail

Re: overheating/losing coolant

Try this before you do any more. When the car has been in use and the engine is hot, just leave it ticking over and see if the temp remains at 90 or starts to climb further, (it should not exceed 90). If it continues to climb, and the car starts to overheat, it could be that the electric cooling fa...
