Saloon/Estate Interior swap?

A friend of mine has a B5.5 estate, he`s asked me if the interior from a B5.5 saloon will fit in okay?

I think it will but want to know for certain. What about the door cards? Are the doors on the saloon the same size as the doors on an estate?

Thanks in advance

Re: MPG issues after fitting new alloys

I was getting around 40mpg in my 1.8T with the standard 16`s on. I changed them for 18`s and the mpg dropped instantly to a low 30. I`ve changed back to 16`s and the mpg is straight back upto the 40`s again. The 18`s are wider wheels and heavier creating more drap hence less mpg

Re: MPG..What ya guys get ..

I`ve started driving differently now to get better mpg, I change gear at around 2k-2.5k. I have a 1.8T Sport estate. I drive an 18 mile round trip to work 5-6 days a week. The highest mpg I`ve had is 42.2. 37 is the lowest. Its not all motorway either, quite a few normal streets, roundabouts and lig...

Re: lowered cars on ferries??

You don`t need to worry about getting a lowered car on a ferry. I took my Audi A4 to VW Mania in Belgium a few years ago, that went on fine with a 100mm drop. Just go on sideways if you think it will be a problem.. Last year I went to Belgium and took the Chunnel for the first time, same price as th...

Re: Tyre wear

Personally I would`nt go to a main dealer just for four wheel laser allignment. You will be charged stupid money Go to a local wheel/tyre place that does allignment. You should be looking at paying around £40 Be warned, they may well not be able to get your wheels alligned 100%. I had an Audi A4 lo...

Re: Turbo Wagon (exterior shots Feb 10th)

Pete, I have`nt got any photos with the headlights on. I`ll have to take some.. TD, do it! Quattro, I got the headlight protectors from my local VW dealership. I managed to get a bit of a discount as I work at another VAG dealership. I then sprayed the inside of the covers with tint spray. I thought...

A gave the wagon a clean and a polish today. Came close to selling it a few wks ago, decided to hold onto it until next year. I have a few plans up my sleeve, different rims, grille, a large exterior mod and a bit lower. Thats a Maltese Cross on my fuel cap, I`m not a neo-nazi :o http://i9.photobuck...

Re: My conversion to veg oil / chip fat

Fair play mate but this also shows what a joke this country is when it comes to driving. Look at what lengths its forcing some people to go to. If I had a diesel I would look into this too..

If this was to catch on big time the government would soon try and do something about it

1. If he only said cover up/remove the D on the plates then you`ve got off lightly. If the plates are pressed metal their illegal end of story. None reflective 2. I was having my car MOT`d a few yrs ago whilst a turbo`d Pug 205 was in there. The examiner who I`ve known for a good ten yrs told me it ...

Re: Passat B5.5 Chrome Window Surrounds

Once it gets distorted mate there`s very little you can do. The distortion is underneath the top layer. You can polish it the best you can though. This fake chrome that Audi and VW love to use looks great on new cars but after a few years it soon deteriorates

Thats because nobody has mate!

Their nice wheels. We`ve got a few S8`s at work, I was admiring them yesterday. I 'love' the A5 rims, not too different from the S8`s. Not sure how much your looking at but a set of genuine 8.5x19` A5`s are £1475

Do it!

What tints are you going for? I have 50% all round and 35% in the rear windscreen. With a dark interior it looks pretty moody

Fully Smoothed Estate

One of my mate`s and his g/f went on a road trip around Europe. They spotted this smoothed wagon whilst driving thru Switzerland! My mate`s g/f took the photo whilst hanging out the window. A blonde bird was driving and it`s a turbo. The arches have been pulled out, roof bars and door handles erased...

Re: B5.5 Estate Lowering Springs - Advice Please Guys

Hi Phil, I have coilovers and I can assure you that the ride is not at all harsh. I purposely have`nt slammed my estate because the standard ride is so nice, I wanted to drop it but not lose the comfort. I`ve taken mine down roughly 30mm all round, you`ll struggle to find lowering springs that offer...

What sort of info are you after?

I heard the conversion costs around £1k. I see ure running a V6 so I know where ure coming from, must drink the fuel. But, unless you do alot of miles, you`ll need to drive for some time to see a return on the conversion.
