to buy a cheap hatch and swap the glass over
cost less than the excess + loss of no claims discount

Re: Help! Does anyone have a B5 estate tailgate for sale?

When someone smashed the rear glass in our tailgate I managed to replace the glass from a rusted/dented tailgate of the wrong colour I got from vehicle breakers
All I can say is that it is an "interesting" challenge cutting the glass out

Re: Replacing Camshaft Cap Bolts on cap at a time?

AGREE . . . great idea
Rockershafts off
Turn the engine so the cams are both pointing up on either side of the cap I'm replacing the bolts on.
Taking as much strain as possible out from that particular cap while I swap out those stretch bolts.
Thanks again

Re: Replacing Camshaft Cap Bolts on cap at a time?

Ta very much for that reply I was also thinking one bolt at a time and retorque/90° stretch immediately should perhaps be OK :-| As this means not disturbing each camshaft cap/bearings A cap missing a single bolt for a matter of a few seconds could surely not get stressed with all the other caps rem...

Re: Thule WingBar / WingBar Edge

by the way mine are in the anodized silver and are pretty easy to keep looking good, black finish was a special order item when I bought them a few years ago [12 week wait]

Also I use Thule square on a 4x4 vehicle we have and they are REALLY noisey by comparison
