Re: Just had this.............
Cheers Pete, Cheered me up no end did that. In all honesty I know nothing about cars and have to take as gospel most of what people tell me on here. I have been a little (lot maybe) naive but what else can I do? £3k is a lot of money and to be honest I have 6 payments left on one of the cars and 0 ...

Re: Just had this.............
Well, well, well, just took the car back to VW (Black One) and after spending over 1200 quid on it this morning they now tell me the current EML is LSB1S1, should this not have been picked up when they did the EGR and intake manifold? Pissing me off big time. I am no further forward than I was BEFOR...

Re: Just had this.............
Cheers Pete, I had the car back today, driven 10 miles and the EML is back on and the car is back in VW, now awaiting their response to the reason it (EML) is back on. Not going to be cheap I know.

Re: The Saga continues, (UPDATED)
no wonder b6 prices are tumbling just not worth taking the risk in buying one Personally from what I have spent in the past 6 weeks I could have had a nice deposit for a real car like a Lada Samara. It has cleaned me out to be honest. I cannot part ex it as they will give me peanuts for it and I ca...

Re: The Saga continues,
Well, really can it get any worse? Changed the Lambda Sensor. Had the car back two hours and the bloody coil light came on, took it back to garage and they report EGR Valve & Intake Manifold and also a broken spring so advise replacing both at the same time...... ........The cost of this work £...

Re: The Saga continues,
You are right there Gaz, I have just been told that an EGR delete would be a cheaper option and only takes minutes and a VAGCOM is that correct?Gazwould wrote:Clean or new EGR required ?

The Saga continues, (UPDATED)
After replacing and spending a small packet on this damn car I have now yet another problem....
P0403 - Exhaust Gas Recirculation Circuit Malfunction
Makes no sense to me but I know it going to cost me a large packet to cure.
Any ideas folks of the cure and the cost?

Re: VW released link to check your vin for emissions recall
This is odd, I got two letters today from Volkswagen, one for me and one for my son. When I put the VIN's into the website last week it told mine was not affected but my son's was. Now in the letters both cars are affected. Cocks ups already me thinks.

It's not the car that is in a bad condition, far far from it. It is the people who I trust to keep me on the road thinking I am an easy ride. I am fekking fed up with it. I am down about £700 quid after this nightmare trip past two days and still no hex key fitted. Mrs AOHO is not speaking to me co...

Bit of Advice needed....
I will put this here as well as it seems not many people go in the B6 department. After my trip to Launceston yesterday and today I am now apparently in need of a Lambda Sensor Bank 1 Sensor 1. I have called both GSF and Capitol VW and the prices vary tremendously. Capitol VW £176.38 GSF £76.36 bo...

Re: VW released link to check your vin for emissions recall
I just did a check on my boy's B6 and his car is affected. Only the last 4 digits are different to his car from mine, if they go up one digit per car built then there is a difference of 4756 cars. Mine was st registered on 23 December 2008 and my son's on 08 January 2009 so only 16 days between them...

Re: VW released link to check your vin for emissions recall
I have a 58 Plate CBAB and is not affected.
I will check my son's car later and my good friend has a 62 Plate but cannot check that as he is in hospital having Major surgery tomorrow.
I will check for him next week.

Mine is being done tomorrow and as said above I have no idea if I have the 77 or the 100mm shaft, but it is a chance I cannot afford to take. Phil may take it off and is 100mm, Happy Days.
