Sometimes valve stem seals leak oil into the cylinders and the oil retention valves will make the engine sound rattly if started overnight... Timing is the 1st thing to look at before removing the pump in order to do the oil retention valves...

Check the plugs in the ECU box, pay attention to the square red one behind the ecu and also unbolt the red, power supply wire and clean the crimp on connector with sandpaper or emery paper. You most likely have corrosion on the pins from the pedal to the ECU... I take it you did not have any "c...

Got new hybrid back from Adam Davidson at TDI Turbos.com, new gtb2260vk internals fitted to the old housings, this should be good for 280-300 Bhp ....old one done 266 with half working engine and clipped gt20 turbine. To fix with aftermarket parts i would say £500 + £150 labour, genuine parts £1000 supply and fit...Don't be tempted to buy cheap chilled cams off ebay for £250, had one snap in 2 pieces just by turning the engine by hand ! Where about's are you ?

Be careful with the glow plugs as they are easy to snap in the head, use plus gas a few days before to soak them and remove them with a hot engine ! I would change the coolant temp. sensor and check timing before condemning the glow plugs first...

They do supply springs to nearly half the cars made in Europe...they are good springs just re-branded ! As above, Eibach Pro are well known and very, very good indeed !
