Hi all, when i come to a stop my car's rpm bounces below normal tickover to 1.5k and at times will stall/cut out, starts straight back up and runs spot on, any idea's :s

always a problem with me, had two replaced.. then another 1.8t i bought didnt even have one (someone previously cut it out and welded a straight piece of pipe in) and now my current 1.8t was on the way out but luckily i replaced the exhaust system! like mentioned above i would head towards getting ...

Soughted well for now anyway , i wrapped it in aluminium ducting tape.

No i dont have any form of vag com, i'll only diy it if its the cable .

i think it depends on what year your car is. if it is an early one, pre 1999 i think then it's got a throttle cable. You can reset the TB by planting your foot down on the pedal, turn the ignition on (not start) and count to 20. If it is a drive-by-wire (later models, after 1999) you might need vag...

When i had my 1.8t golf mk4 i was told i'd need to reset the throtte body using vagcom, is this the case with my b5 1.8 na Passat? at low revs my car stutters for eg when i change from 1st to 2nd and let the revs drop when clutch is down it will stutter for a second. Is this even a valid question, diesels are noisy , smokey and no where near as smooth as a petrol, if getting the best mpg is so important go for the diesel but in general petrols are way better and so is the boost. God i miss boost anyone got a 1.8t want to swap for my candy white 20v

Was the center console much of a job to remove ? i found two sheets of silver carbon fibre in the boot and was thinking of doing around the temp dials.

While on the subject of keys, would it be possible for me to buy a flip key off ebay and get it cut i know they have rcl buttons but i just like the flip out bit
