Timing belt gone,,was replaced at 72.000 and it’s gone at 106000
I was gutted but going to put my seats etc out of my highline in to another Passat

My b5.5 highline saloon has died and I’m just wondering if the seats especially the rears fit a b5.5 estate or b5 saloon or estate.
Don5 want to start taking stuff out if it’s a waste of time when I find a replacement Passat

Obviously my clutch is on its way out,,any idea the cost of replacing these???

I just can't imagine what so suddenly can happen to 3 cylinders. That 30 he might mean compression, that could be broken camshaft and just 1st cylinder valves working, probably other 3 cylinder valves are bent then. But that definitely is no common failure on 4 cylinder engines. So a bit strange wh...

Used to happen on my caddy van,,,I used to ratchet strap the doors closed on a cold morning

Right I have had a mate look at it and it is not the timing belt but 3 of the cylinders are not working and one only giving 30 or something he said.
Said it is probably worse than the belt snapping.
Bit gutted but think I will break it if anyone needs anything...

Last time I had the esp light on I had both brake lights out,,changed bulbs light gone.

Thing is we can't prove any different with not owning the car from new,,,,

Can you get fuel out of a b5.5 petrol using a manual syphon pump??
My 2.0s is broken with the belt and a full tank that I could use in my 1.8t

If the belt went while starting engine, I don't want to believe that valves are bent. Long years ago my mate had a b3 passat with 1.6 tdi engine and the belt snapped while engine was idling next to house in morning.
