RNS 510 frustration
Impossible to get definite info on google, i just bought a RNS 510 off ebay, latest model 1T0 035 680 P, is this the correct one for the B7? I'd really really appreciate if someone could give me their OEM part number for their factory fitted RNS 510, thanks

Re: People with xenons
Had a look at Etka, the ones with the 21w bulb part no's are 3AA 941 661 F (left) 3AA 941 662 F ( right) On mine with with the 55w bulb is 3AA 941 661 G (left) and 3AA 941 662 G (right).. Not sure if the difference is because i have xenons or if it's year dependent, maybe they did changes . My car w...

Re: People with xenons
Ah there is something different there then. My cornering lights are just the inner ones and fog lights the outer like yours. In reverse only my inner ones come on. However it's not a 21w bulb, both bulbs are the same in mine and are a 55w halogen.

Re: People with xenons
Here's how mine work, The outer light (nearest to the edge) on mine is the foglight. The inner one is the cornering light on mine. Is that how yours works on the standard halogen car? I would imagine so? Only difference is that the DRL function on my OEM xenon car is the " fairy" lights an...

Re: People with xenons
I have the factory OEM xenons . Fog lights and corner lights look the same as my neighbours standard headlight car. The only difference is the fog lights aren't used as DRLs only the fairy lights. But i think i saw in Vagcom you can change them around.

Re: 2 years down the line
I have my CR 140 saloon since March and now have done 12k, no problems at all. A little boring but since fitting a 170 turbo and remapp ( only difference between the engines is the turbo) it's actually quite fun to drive now with 200bhp, don't regret buying a B7.

Re: Remote tailgate release
My mistake on this, it doesn't lock immediately it does so after 20 seconds when the boot is closed just enough time for " Sh** i left my keys in the boot!" lol

Re: Remote tailgate release
There is also the button on the key that will unlock the boot only when the car is locked. Closing the boot will automatically re-lock and re-set the alarm, so no need to press the lock button again. Beware of this , i also thought mine re locked after closing the boot just like my Octy RS did but ...

My mate has an Audi PD100 remapped and my Passat is a standard CR 140. He keeps asking me wanting to do an acceleration comparison ( only to legal speeds only) side by side to see which would be quicker. We are going to do the test in about half an hour from this post, so what do you all think would...

Re: Can you get the claimed MPG
I took delivery of my Passat 2.0 TDI 140 CR this week. So far economy is atrocious!! Looking at my friends 1.6 Passat over the last few thousand miles is also not good news. The guy is 70 this year and a careful driver and the longterm MPG on the MFD is 40 mpg!!!

Re: 1.6 TDI V 2.0TDI
Hmmmm My friend has a manual Passat 1.6 and i have a 2.0 manual. Seems a good difference. Another friend has a lighter 1.6 golf and after a spin in my 2.0 heavier Passat he reckoned it was a noticable differerence.

Re: Joining you lot this week
Got the car. Very good car and very pleased with it. However, first impressions on economy i'm not impressed!. I got the car on Wednesday and put 50 euro in the tank. I had to refuel today ( done 250 miles apporox). That is very similiar to my old 2008 modified Skoda Octavia vRS 2.0 TFSI with 324bh...

Got an update today. She is in the country ( i live in Ireland) since yesterday ( 11th). Problem is it can take 3 days to clear customs and that brings it to Friday, We have a bank holiday this weekend because of Paddy's day so could be looking at least next Tuesday now, it's a killer  :hyst
