The good news is a CR170 turbo from a CFGB(170) or a CFGC(177 only a software difference from the 170)) engine will bolt straight up to the 140. Check the glow plugs / coolant temperature sensor for correct operation, Glow plugs on more modern cars can stop on for upto 3 minutes, not just the first 10 seconds when the engine is started. The starter isn't the same as the one used on the normal cars. They are well beefed up for the purpose. The battery is also an AGM which can cope with the start/stop.

How are the AGM batteries holding up? Any failures?

I use a sucking device, have done the last 2 cars. Works well.

The 2013 models ( the abs sensor not direct reading of pressures) don't have a reset button. You use the mfa to set/reset. Worth noting it's possible could be activated by vagcom if newer cars don't come with it.

I have succesfully activated the XDS electronic differential lock on my March 2013 140 Passat, comes standard with the 177bhp version. ABS module, channell 67 and new value 1, should say enabled afterwards.

Sometimes when cold and wet i have heard something similiar, like a squeeky rattle for a second or 2. I'd say damp belt pulley causing it. Filling the windscreen washer and overspilling down on the belt has replictaed the sound a few times.

Even though it may not be listed still could be on it. Mine ends with AQ so a lot of variations. Best way to check go into channel 67 and see if the value can be changed to see if "enabled" comes up. Will be trying mine this week.

Anyone tried this yet? Supposed to be some form of an "electronic" LSD for the higher powered cars and the B7 may have it hidden and can be activated by Vagcom

Ah nevermind, managed to answer my own question by getting to look at the bulbs.

Can anyone confirm does the B7 use the mercury free D3s bulbs?

I don't know about the camera, but i fitted my RNS 510 myself in approx 5 mins.

I bought the lights secondhand and they came with the harnesses. Thank you very much for the reply, it seems mine is the right one. The difference in the last letter is due to revisions etc, P is the latest.

There are 2 versions of the RNS 510, one comes with DAB. Yours probably isn't . Scan with Vagcom to see what part number your RNS 510 is, if the number ends with 680 you don't have DAB.
