Re: 2005 model. Hole in the floor?
Could be the rear passenger door regulator panel seal leaking. Sit in the back with the door closed and get someone to run water on the door window and look for water leaking in over the door seal. May just need to take the interior door panel of and seal the lower part of the regulator panel with a...

Re: The dredded door lock
I had exactly this job just yesterday. Front passenger side. I had read that by drilling/cutting an access window in the lock actuator body to expose the gear wheel that drives the deadlock you could manually wind it off to open the door. No doubt in some failure modes this may work but have to repo...

Re: All Weather Tyres, which are best?
Other than reading reviews, I can vouch for Michelin Cross climate from experience, been running them on my B5.5 estate for over 3 years now, great performing tyre in all conditions i’ve encountered in the uk so far, very consistent feel. I really like them. Not driven in the snow with them yet but ...

Re: less issues with later b6?
Cheers Shane, I looked at a 2.0tfsi Exeo the other day, pretty looking car but quite a small boot for an estate, also thought it a bit ott for what my daughter was needing in the performance stakes. Looking at all the options I think an Octavia 1.4TSI (or maybe even a 1.8) is probably the best optio...

Never had any issues with Pagid from ecp, the anti corrosion paint on them is good too, discs stay looking smart for longer than most

Re: less issues with later b6?
Thanks Mitch, Yeah, also looking at the Octavia and golf even considering seat exeo / A4 avant although boot space is’nt the best in these. Unfortunately her budget puts her right in the diesel boom era so our preferred Petrol choice is limited, recon over 90% of cars are oil burners. What are the 1...

less issues with later b6?
Hi B6 peeps, Been driving a B5.5 for the last 12 years so never really imersed myself in the b6 world. My daughter is currently looking for an estate car and likes the look of the b6, I know there were a number of issues with the early cars, my question is... Do the later cars fair better in the rel...

Re: mot question...
MOT’d my wagon on Thursday, 0.41 max, average was 0.4.
2005 AVF so no dpf, all stock and still with egr.
I always fill with BP ultimate, never noticed improved mpg but keeps it burning clean, seems to do the trick, no other additives required.

Answering my own question..... just checked the reg of a random 2003 130 sport wagon found on ebay and it is subject to the T charge.

Re: pd130 mpg?
Never calculated it manually, its pretty consistent though. Not affected by fuel either from what I can see. I do tend to run bp ultimate though, I think it does help prevent soot/particulate issues in the long run.... turbos and the like

Re: pd130 mpg?
similar here, my car is in great shape - 130 AVF not running any re-map. On a 150 mile motorway run it will normally do 50mpg (best I've had is 57) drops to around 43 on local runs. Normally 46/47 on Trip2 mpg.

Does it enable the removal of the terminals? Sent using tepalathy from my brain. do you mean the male pins? Should do, although I've only done female pins so far. Its easy to use, just got to slide the purple retaining clip out of the plug then poke the tool in the front and pull the pin terminal o...

Re: I'm new and possibly in trouble....
While your in there check your crank case breather system through, it runs from just by the dipstick up and around to the turbo (have a google for details) it is very common on the 1.8T to block up with sludge/mayo.
Can lead to oil leaks around the head and oil/vapour venting from the dipstick.

It'll be from the breather system, its normal to see oil dripping from lower intercooler section.

Not really any help, but while on the subject of aerials thought I'd mention just replaced my aerial antenna with a shorter stubby one. As far as im aware they use exactly the same projector and plastic at the front. Without going into details I don't really understand, they look very similar from the outside but I think you'll find they are actually different. That aside, for the most part HID's work really quite well in the halog...
