As the other guys have said, the diesel is your best option. I guess the 2.0 petrol will return maybe 30mpg but won't be a particularly exciting drive, whereas a remapped turbo engine (petrol or diesel) will certainly put a grin on your face :-P My vote is the diesel! You will have the 136bhp variant, the torque output is the same at 320Nm. It's no drama to remap though.

Hi Matt, Apologies for the slow response ! They go to about 135bhp and 250 to 320Nm. The price for these EDC16 ECU's is £295, it will be a bit less at the gathering next w/e though. I honestly wouldn't expect your economy to drop, but if you insist on racing starts and accelerating towards red ligh...

It is an EDC15 ecu. You can expect to see 170bhp and 400Nm realistically. I certainly wouldn't expect you to see a drop in economy, if you do your maths on a 5% improvement then you shouldn't be far out.
