Re: diesel treatment
Millers +1, 2 years of usage in my car. Makes engine work softer and gives extra 2mpg to my driving style. Without it, engine works rougher, not really but clutters louder. Mind you cr tdi is not loud at all but comparing like for like you do notice the difference. Millers is widely available and ca...

Checkout Morimoto for the HID kit into dips' projectors -- no need for anything more than 4300k at 35W +1. And on that note ... 2 years of ownership no single issue with that set up. If you time it right, you can shave off £££ on their promotions bl...

Re: passat idle to high 2010
If car is not driven on motorways to regenerate, it will attempt to regenerate your DPF at iddle. Upping up your revs from usual 800 to 1000rpm. If you turn off your engine while its in regeneration mode you break regenaration cycle, your car will attempt the same procedure later on. So, go drive it...

Yeah now that videos just showing off lol. Really bright them. Its not really showing off, but its about of what possible to do. Lights need not to be bright but spreading emiting usefull light is the name of the game. You can't compare HID vs Halogen set ups, unless you go for crazy bulbs like Osr...

Correct me if wrong, 94 is standard and 97 for heavy laden estate. Go lower, and insurance monkeys will be kicking you around if worst happens.

Re: Forte Diesel Treatment + Forte Turbo Cleaner
Best cleaning is mechanical cleaning. Then you can talk about chemical cleaning. BG244 is trade proven for its cleaning abilities. Then there is nano based Archoil 6400 additives (Stagecoach use them to improve MPG on their fleet). Forte products, haven't heard anything bad about them. Millers fuel ...

I own B6, and both of my keys work only if very close to the car. Not sure how other people report of their long range, but at a time I thought it was meant like that so didn't bother.

Quick one,
Mechanism on my EGR valve got stuck, and as a result whole unit has to be replaced.
Car is 58plated (cbab)2.0cr tdi 140.
What price should i expect to pay? Currently at work cant do proper research.

Re: B6 headlights - candles would be better??
Osram NB don't last as long as Philips XV. Also, if you preffer long term vs light perfomance then go for long life OEM bulbs. They are more expensive though. Halogen bulbs don't last as long as HID bulbs due to different design and halgen bulbs age and loose light perfomance very quickly, period. I...

Re: I Really Have to Get a New Car This Time
From 2008 onwards you won't find SE spec, as all of them upgraded to Highline by VW. S spec models remained. So no, highline isn't overrated. But from my personal experience, do get one with parking sensors. You will thank me in the future, B6 is a long car. SEL and Sport models are nice, Sport seat...

58plated highline start from 5k onwards.
Plenty of examples on offer, world is your oyster.
Mine is highline in estate form, insurance group 10, city 40mpg, mway 50+mpg at 75mph cruising.

Re: Aftermarket HIDs and Wiper Motor
Few audi a3/4 owners (vwaudi forums) reported exactly the same problems after installing poor quality ebay HID kits. Plenty of other HID converted owners who used better quality kits enjoy to this day 3x more light. It all depends if you can source good quality product. Not all OEM xenons equal, few...

Re: B6 headlights - candles would be better??
Halogen bulbs last on average 300 hours. Perfomance bulbs less. There are OEM *long life* bulbs which last longer but cost more. All halogen bulbs do fade as they age, so their light output perfomance drops. It depends what you want from your lights, if you fancy perfomance bulbs then Osram NB unlim...

Re: Maim beam HIDS
2 seconds to get to 80% seems like a hell of a long time, when halogens or OEM xenons are instant. Halogen and LED bulbs do light up in an instant. HID xenon OEM or aftermarket does not, it has got different concept design. So warm up times do vary between makers. Before claiming world record warm ...

I know for sure that Japanese makers are Matsushita and Denso. They are used by many car manufacturers etc and their perfomance and reliability are well known of. German manufacturers use Hella and Bosch offerings. But those systems while offering top notch perfomance will cost £300+ for ballasts. ...

Man_utd could you explain what technology is used in your ballasts to achieve these kind of fast start up times. All I know that fastest ballasts on the market are Denso. Genuinely interested.
