Re: Wrong Fuel in PD

Well after a good 250 mile run yesterday and topping up with fuel (the correct fuel! :hyst ) it seems to be getting better. Started first time this morning, started after a couple of turns not long after .. so it appears to be getting better. Im more worried about the water getting into the car now ...

Re: Wrong Fuel in PD

Drain some more out and put diesel in. Save the stuff you drain out in cans but only put a rag over the top and in time the petrol will evaporate then you will be ok to use it bit by bit. Used to do that when i was in the garage and we got people in the petrol station next door miss-fulling and we ...

Re: Wrong Fuel in PD

Right not sure if this is progress or not. Changed the oil filter today and no better. Car bump starts but did start with key. So drained the tank of about half and then filled it back up with diesel. Now the car runs fine when its running, dipping the clutch it doesnt stall, turning engine off ...

Re: Wrong Fuel in PD

You blonde ! Just keep topping up / diluting with derv . Tell me about it mate! :hyst PRoblem is the tank is fuel (more full with diesel than petrol). Though my dad has just messaged saying he's managed to now start it with the key. So its improving. Judging by your reaction Gaz, ive nothing to ...

Wrong Fuel in PD

Hi All, Had a brain fart today after work (after a loooong friday at work) and ended up putting £20 worth of petrol in the car. Realised my mistake and put a further £40 in which then gave it a full tank. Car Start and ran fine down the motorway, maybe 8-10 miles. Then going up hill off the motorway ...

Re: What did you do to your Passat today?

Number plate lights are getting picked up a lot now. VAG seem to be susceptible to water ingress and poor connection. My A4 has a new light assembly fitted by previous owner. At least the parts you need are cheap and easily replaced. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Well when i was sorting my ...

Re: What did you do to your Passat today?

Friday Passed the MOT. Failed for split flexi brake pipe, exstinguished fog and number plate light - so not too bad really. Did expect it to fail for the decat and possibly the HIDS, but nope, passed for those.

Re: Bought a nail and need help!

Which engine is it? 5 speed or 6 speed gear box?

To check the level of the gearbox fluid the car needs to be level and if the fluid is at the bottom of the fill hole, it is fine. May just need a change of fluid?

Doe the actuator move ok? Could be sticking vains in the turbo that need a good clean.

Infact reading more into it, it uses its own ballast like the HIDs do. Can you get 55w 4300k LED bulbs.. can only see 600k and above??

Re: LED (COB) headlights

So I assume these just plug into the existing wiring like normal halogen bulbs? Has anyone driven on the open road with them? not getting flashed by on coming traffic etc? Just watched a video on youtube where a guy compares Halogen vs HID vs LED. LED performed better than HID under their conditions ...

Re: What did you do to your Passat today?

Chuffed with myself. Firstly I carried out the planned oil change.. no problems there. Then, as the weather was nice i decided to take another look at the faulty rear parking sensor. Months ago, i scanned it and vagcom said left sensor, bought one off ebay and fitted - fault remained. Today i ...

had Whispbars on the B5. wouldnt use anything else. They're silent when fitted (no wind noise) and they sit flush with the existing roof bars. They look so much better. Not cheap though.
