Re: Hit pothole- now abs /hand brake fault?

Almost certainly you need a new rear hub assembly, if the bearings shot the wobble will stuff the reading from the wheel speed sensor. Afaik the b6 is like the b5.5 and its almost as cheap to replace the rear hub assembly as it is to spend labour and parts doing the bearing. I suspect you should al...

Re: Hit pothole- now abs /hand brake fault?

Well, was it a pothole or was it the edge of the road? If pothole it's the traffic authority's responsibility If edge of road then it'd be where the road ends and the adjacent private land begins Passing point laybys are the traffic authorities' responsibility Did you change two speed sensors or on...

Re: Hit pothole- now abs /hand brake fault?

it is a 2008 140 b6
yer will have to have a closer look at the hub assembly to see if theres anything obvious,
well it was the edge of a country road, where it has a big drop off and is jagged, not sure whether could claim for that tbh?

Hit pothole- now abs /hand brake fault?

My mum hit a pothole the other day, she broke the 2 nearside alloy wheels and as if that wasn't bad enough, there is now a fault with the car. We are getting a fault code 00290 - rear left wheel speed sensor faulty signal intermit and 01316 ABS control unit - check fault codes- intermittent Changed ...

diy aux in issues- poor sound quality and very quiet

A while back i installed the diy 3.5 jack for aux in on my 2002 b5.5 passat. It works, however you have to turn the volume up ridiculous amounts to get any sound and the quality isn't the best. Have i done something wrong? or is it a faulty jack from maplins? cd changer still works and sound quality...

Re: AUX input on a standard Gamma Radio for less than a five

I was reading through this only yesterday, great How-To :-bd However I think if I do mine, I will feed the socket through to the cubby under the armrest, that way I can hide the cable and the ipod etc and keep the dash clean. I can also have a socket on the end of a lead if wanted, instead of it be...

Re: AUX input on a standard Gamma Radio for less than a five

I did this a while ago on my 2002 passat, it works, however you have to turn up the volume soooo loud on the gamma unit to hear anything from your aux in. By that time the sound quality is not the best and there is some interference from engine, not sure if the socket is at fault or i've done someth...

Re: anybody had esp issues following cruise control install?

00526 - Brake Light Switch (F): Implausible Signal

but the switch is definitely good,

i think its something else causing it to throw that code, but not sure what could do it?

yes i might have to go back through it, but i was thinking, if there were wires incorrectly placed surely the cruise control would not work?
