Re: turbo choose for my pd100?
Think I would get it remapped first and see if you're happy with that. I had my pd100 mapped and did an egr delete and am more than happy. Makes it the car it should have been in the first place. The jump from 100 bhp to approx 135 bhp is very noticeable and useful, especially when overtaking. I had...

Re: older appliances are better????
I think manufacturers are constantly drip feeding us new technology all the time. They need us to keep wanting the latest products, whether its a fridge a phone or a new car.Last years product is out of date now, but so is this years as well. If it doesn't bother you and it still works then keep it....

I reckon most of the cheap coilovers are made by the same chinese company and probably branded for different customers. As for more expensive ones , the quality lasts long after the expense has been forgotten. So if you buy cheap coilovers you will get a cheap ride!!!

Re: lowering springs
is a highline variant, which I suppose is probably the highest spring set up on a b5.5.
I do like y I don't have to slow down for speed humps. I also hear alot of stories about people smashing their sumps and having a harsh ride. All of which i want to avoid so think 30mm would be plenty.

Re: Recommended suspension upgrades?
I would say any good quality dampers like bilstein or sachs. As for arbs go for the sport front rollbar, I have fitted one and can confirm they really tighten up the front end! As a bonus you can pick one up pretty cheap from a breaker's yard and are really easy to fit.Deffinatley worth doing. Hope ...

Re: intake temp monitoring
Yeah I understand that cooler air equals more power, it does seem to drop off fairly quickly as engine warms up.
has anyone tried one of those intercooler fans that all the jap tuners seem to run?.
I am just running the standard smic bbut am always looking to improve things if I can.

intake temp monitoring
Does anyone know what is the best way to monitor the intake temp on on my mapped pd 100.
I have noticed that when the air temp is cooler it does seem to have more poke.
I would be interested to know how air temp affects the power output?.
Does anyone have any tips?

Try replacing the seal on the intercooler pipe for an upgraded green one from the main dealer's.
Had same problem with my tdi 100 , new seal sorted it, easy job to do as well.

You should have some new bolts in the kit, just use the old ones to plug the vac lines
as they are the correct size.
