where to buy a replacement swan neck towing ball arm?
The bolt on swan neck section is missing from my b6 estate passat, the support frame is in place but no one wants to sell just that tow ball arm piece. To fit it needs 4cm center 12mm bolt holes, and the flattened section is 28mm wide. Tried lots of wreckers and ebay. Wreckers must just scrap these?

Re: fitting towbar electrics, immobilizer fault
cheers maclee, Removing it was our plan, but then found an auto electrician who had a look and one of our wires was in the wrong place. All good once he put it right.

fitting towbar electrics, immobilizer fault
Fitting a ecs towbar loom to my 2005 b6, put it back together and its thrown multiple codes on the vcds. Immobilizer wont allow the engine to start and it doesnt see the Central Electronics Control Module which we had 2 plugs out of to insert the new loom into. The battery was disconnected during th...

Re: Balance Shaft delete
Took the balance shaft unit off today to find its actually the gear driven version so following gazworlds advice decided to return the delete unit and ordered a remanufactured shaft and upgraded key. Also the locking tool and some new bolts. One of the bolts only comes in packs of 25 (@£44) so may r...

Re: Balance Shaft delete
The engine code is for an unreliable chain driven balance unit so decided to take it all out. None of the delete blogs I read said the extra vibration was too excessive. What have you heard Gazwould?

Balance Shaft delete
Got the oil pressure doom warning on my b6 2005 bkp passat last week. I was just driving away on a cold morning so thick oil seems to have been the last straw for a worn oil pump shaft! Hopefully no damage to the crank or turbo. I've bought parts to do a delete and cambelt service. Started doing the...

Re: Which is the G68 sensor?
It was to drivers side sensor, bought a £5 old stock one off ebay 01M 927 321, the sensor is the same but the plug is moulded on and it doesn't fit. So got an 095 927 321A out of a wrecker, (095 927 321C would also do I believe) popped it in, plugged in the vcds, cleared the fault code for it only ...

Re: Which is the G68 sensor?
Do you think I haven't been all over google images looking for a similar transmission. The Haynes has no info, and there is alot of discussion on line regarding the inaccessibility of the G68 on an 01M trans, mine is listed by vcds as an 01N trans and the sensors on either side are reachable from un...

Re: Automatic Gearbox rumble 3rd and 5th gear
Can you check it using VCDS for transmission fault codes? Have you tried the Throttle position reset?

Which is the G68 sensor?
IMG_01043.jpg The 01N auto in my 98 1.9tdi is playing up, changing down at odd times, usually on the motorway!!! VCDS shows an intermittent signal from the G68 sensor. So from under the transmission looking forwards there are 2 connectors for sensors on either side, my question, is the G68 on the d...
