Re: how to work out wheel offset?
got the spigot rings sorted, my brother (who gave me the wheels) owns his own engineering company and they machine nylon every day, so a set will be childs play for him. trying to source PCD correction bolts quickly isn`t as easy as I`d hoped, order on ebay or from Halfrauds seems the only options s...

Re: how to work out wheel offset?
couldn`t see anything at first- hence my post, but thanks to you, found the info stamped on the inner spokes, ET 43 & will deffo need spigots as the ACTUAL size I was looking for was 72, not 55 (difference between inside-where the rings go & the outside where the caps fit-DOH!)
cheers dude.

I`ve got my hands on a set of 18" alloys- Ace 205`s- and need to work out the offset, can anyone tell me how to find this out, what should mine (B5 Y2k wagon) be? is there a minimum and maximum that I can`t go beyond? they were bought for a Vauxhall Zafira originally, but I`m told wobble bolts ...

alloy wheel wobble bolt-security?
I`ve picked a set of 18`s (at last :D ) but need to fix them with wobble bolts, how do I secure them? I have security bolts on each of my 16`s- can I use one on each wheel in conjuction with the wobble bolts to secure the 18`s? I`ve seen wobble bolts on ebay and have sourced a set locally (Glasgow) ...

Re: how much for 18" tyres
I wouldn`t knock kwik fit BTW! I had a set of goodyears fitted last week and my air con regassed whilst they were at it and, 40 notes discounted off price, a set of chrome effect valve covers thrown in (stop sniggering, they were free!) tyres are insured for a year, any unrepairable damage- straight...

just lined up a set of 18`s from my brother but they`re Vauxhall spaced so would need adaptors, is any sponsor supplying these? he actually owns his own engineering company and could knock me up a set no problem but I`m assuming any supplier will have the correct bolts as in materials lengths etc wh...

Re: how much for 18" tyres
I checked Blackcircles.com and that seems about right sadly...the continentals came up as £180/tyre Couldn't find anything reasonable under £150. Maybe it's just an unusual size? Funny YSST cos my bro`s wife phoned some other tyre place (in Arbroath) when the bloke from kwik fit quoted her a pric...

Re: how much for 18
I got 225/40r18 nankang ns2's on the back of mine for £55each. What cars he got? it`s a Vectra, tyres are huge but I thought 200+ sheets (225 I think) was way over the top. unfortunately his wife shredded the tyre on a trip to the north of Scotland and with two toddlers onboard, needed a tyre pron...

Re: Toyo T1 Sport ... Any good?
if it`s T1r`s & you want performance but not high mileage then yes. but, there are different types of T1 tyres from toyo, so check which ones you`re getting. TBO I`d probably take `em as toyo`s are good tyres IMO.

cheapest I`ve found were in my local poundland! worked just fine, also Wilkensons do blades for 2.99, I`ve used them too with no problems. paid 25 quid for a set of Bosch years ago for my last Nissan hatch- never again, never lasted any longer than any other make I`ve had!

bit late for this tip (for you maybe-sorry) but I spoke to a taxi driver, me moaning about the No of times I`ve had these fixed in just 2 years of ownership & he said to make sure to use genuine VW parts, he`d previously taxi`d a 5.5 and said using pattern parts is false economy!

You can get a professional window tint job done in the region of £150. yeah, but, if this could be done, it`ll be in the region of 2! two! 1+1 spondoolies! gotta be worth a try for that ridiculous amount-surely? got a couple of ideas banging around in my head, I`ve been tied up for the last couple...

yup, I tried window film as well, complete disaster, I reckon I could do a half decent job if I could do it inside, but that`s not an option for me, so, I`m gonna try to get these shades to work, dad in hospital put paid to yesterday and a `random` stop from plod forcing a new set of boots put paid ...

can you tint your glass for 2 quid?
was looking at blinds for window tints & got me thinking, blinds are just gauze material, albeit cut to size and shape, then mounted on a frame of sorts,- it`s still only material! so, off I did jolly well trot to a `Dunelm mill` nearby and for the grand sum of 2.25 I`ve got 1.5m square of black...

it bugged me when mine jammed too (B5 non key version) every time I braked the seat fell forward, drove me nuts until I soaked it in WD & managed to flick the `bar` forward & push it back manually, it`s worked fine ever since. if you`ve to remove it anyway to fit a new one, I`d have a last g...
