Bodged job if they've had to cut wires TBH. I would ask em to replace it if it was me. You'll need to get the codes cleared to get rid of the lights

Re: Bumper Upgrade
Everything is there to fit the fog's as the mounts are there and grilles just clip in place. You'll need the loom and a new switch for in the car as well.

When you fully tighter all the arms you need to do it with the weight of the car on them. If they are torqued without the weight on em they will tend to squeak after

Too much time, love and money invested to give up
Doing a re-build doesn't cost much except a bit of time and keeps me out of mischief

Re: W8 build thread - re-build here we come...again
Been busy getting engine out so not had many updates so here goes :esm Finally managed to get the engine and box out. Had to take the gearbox mounts off. heat shields and downpipes. Getting the gear linkage off was by far and away the hardest task of all http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee77/dmces...

Re: Urgent! power steering broke
As above....re fill and see if it still works. The system will be filled with air so leave the cap loose so it can vent out as you turn the wheel lock to lock. When you get a leak and you know about it then best get it fixed or at least keep checking the levels. I had a small leak from mine for 2 ye...

Re: was it worth it ????
Biggest rear disc size that went on a passat was 269mm so it's all going to depend on the carriers on the rear and the offset on the discs as to whether they will fit.

If you give me the relay number I'll check what the cost is. From memory your looking at £33 from VW.
If it is that let me know as I'll get one in the post for a tenner to you next day

Re: How do you rate your brakes?
Must admit I think I need a slightly bigger servo to go with the upgraded calipers and discs although the current one has done 166,000 miles so could have a bit of wear on it. They do stop me well enough though, but always have the feeling they could be better

Re: How do you rate your brakes?
Need to check the servo as when the plenum fills so does the servo and it rusts it away. Other than that quality parts help along with better hoses

It's under the carpet under the seat. It's on the bulkhead that runs side to side. If you need one then let me know as I've got spares. 'Tristan' just had one off me and it was perfect

2 bolts either side of the lights (when you have the tailgate open. Various bolts/screws on the underside and you need to remove some arch liner screws if I remember. All pretty simple

Re: Rust Blisters
Not all cars have the sponge. I've got 4 cars which are all before 03 plate and none of them have the sponge and none have any rust. The bootlid is a claimable issue as it's well documented. The run off from the rear screen goes into the bootlid and sits around the lights. Every bootlid I've seen ha...
