Re: Sump Guard

Torque i think your getting confused with the bit that fell off, theres the underbelly tray and then the gearbox bit, but on the sump there is a foamy carpet'y cover, mine was falling off after a bird decided to go under my car so i just tie wrapped it back on. I can only guess its some sort of insu...

The only reason we won't adopt the 1 numberplate thing is because we pay for the plates, the government are always looking for ways to save them money, and over there they provide you with the plate, costing them money.

Re: decat.......no owl

Is it just the case of removing the cat and all silencers then? Does that mean it's a straight through system? Sorry for more questions. :D well yeah a straight through is just a pipe, no silencers or cats, but all that isnt nessasary as I said mine did it from standard it just got louder with the ...

It's not a hard job and you Can change the fronts without undoing the pinch bolt but you will need a bar to push down on the arms to get the strut out sent from my own phone Can coilovers be fitted without doing this? I think the pinch bolt was a bitch when my dad changed something a good while ago...

Basically a mod where you can remove the cat and the silencers so when you back off the throttle your car 'cooooo's'.
Mine used to do it standard, it just got slightly louder with the mufflerectomy.

Re: Advise needed (with Pics)

It wasn't an easy job getting them nuts out, being of a skinny build doesn't help lol. With regards to the wiring, check behind the rear lights, if the same as mine which I guess it will be, there is an extra loom for the tow bar that plugs in just behind the lights, once you've disconnected this th...

Re: A couple of B5.5 questions

Generally with the zinc inclusions it will be a random spot somewhere, which will look like corrosion but over time doesn't get any bigger/worse, if the paint has flaked you'll see that underneath it just looks like dirty metal. With actual corrosion/rust you can see where the rust is spreading and b...

Re: A couple of B5.5 questions

I can only answer question 2. Before you do anything make sure its rust/corrosion, my cars got little bubbles all over it that VW wont touch saying there are Zinc inclusions from where the paint has reacted with what they dip it in prior to painting. If its definitly rust then go to VW and dont sett...
