As title I need to change the brake motors on my daughters car. They are both cracked. Doe anyone know if they are the 6 or 12 tooth spline? The car is a 56 plate Passat 2.0tdi 170

Surely they have the same troublesome engines in? I had a Fabia vrs many moons ago. Wasn’t impressed with the build quality. Unless it’s improved drastically!

After having a couple of b5s & several b5.5s I am contemplating a b6. I hear so many horror stories regarding them that I am a bit loathe to buy one. I hear lots of stories about the 2.0 but not much about the 1.9. Is the 1.9 the better one to go for?

I did swap the maf sensor for mine as i have the same car. No difference

Well I cleaned the turbo, checked lines etc cannot see anything amiss. Replaced the n75 & still the same. Apparently the car runs better in cold weather. She says the turbo sometimes kicks in. But in hot weather it doesn't work at all?

My daughters passat 1.9tdi 130 sport was losing power all the time. Seemed like the turbo wasn't kicking in at all. I changed the n75 valve & it seems better. Also swapped the maf sensor with mine as i have the same car. No difference. Now it only seems to lose power on hills. I am presuming the...

We have just broken my mates Passat B5.5 Sport. It has a remapped ECU. Does anyone know if I could just put it in my B5.5 Sport? Just plug & play?

I know it's an old post, but mine was doing exactly the same. I disconnected the battery for 30 seconds as mentioned above & it works fine now

I replaced the thermostat last week. Think I'm going to change the pump as well. Like you said, new parts can be defective too!

Could it be something as simple as the coolant temperature sensor? May be clutching at straws now

Bit of an update. I have just flushed the radiator, no blockage. Water pump does look new. Still got the same problem. Totally stumped now!!

Must agree, I think water pump myself. Going to flush the system first though. I bought the car with the problem. The guy I bought it off spent money trying to get it fixed. Not sure if he's been ripped off!
