I'm pretty sure that they can be carefully prized out. However by the time you've spent the time and effort rubbing your originals down, you could buy the later chrome stripped ones. They're not that dear, and you wont have to drive round with no rub strips on.

Koni FSD with Eibach springs.
Just drove a mates Altea with this combo. Looks are improved and much more comfortable than the standard sport set up. It only firms up when you are pedalling hard.
Iv'e just priced that kit up at £580 all in for my wagon.

I like that lots. Nice subtle mods, top choice of rims. I would loose the rear bagdes if it were mine though. Each to their own.

Wheels are called Pheonix 17" They are standard on late V range models.

Re-map is great. 195bhp & 290lbft. Very smooth and linear power from 1500-5000rpm. Not as aggresive as other maps for 1.9 engines. Brilliant for towing. Fuel is still always in the high 30's.

I had to do this on a Polo a few years ago.

Autoleads do an in line amplifier. You plug the tube bit between the aerial lead and the socket in the head unit, the connect the power wire to the accessory wire out of the radio's iso plug.

SILVER BLUE WAGON

Well hello again. I'd only just joined up when you all went away. I thought it was something I said. Anyway enough about me, it's the cars that matter. Mine is a 2004 V6 TDi estate. It is fairly stock looking at the moment. I have done a few mods so far. Little tailgate spoiler, front fogs, arm rest...
