You need to check the loom to the CCM (mainly the joints which are wrapped the conections/wires rot) take the ccm out and take the top cover off, have a good look for signs of water (corrosion on conections,dry solder joints etc) I had very simalar problems and it was the loom. Bit more playing discovered i have a damaged switch on the center light, the main power was making contact with the switched power so that light stayed on all the time.

just to let anyone who is searching old post as i was, i have now fixed my car. The problem was a mixture of three things (CCM, CCM loom, rear door lock motors siezed) all three where caused by the bad rain we had over winter (my Bulkhead drains where also blocked up).

Woo Hooooo.......

Is yours the same as mine, Unlocks fine with central locking but won't lock, there doesn't aprear to be any power/signal at the solanoid? also my Boot light works ok (comes on when the boot's open and goes off when its closed)

I have had the wiring out again and followed it from end to end with no luck finding bad wires, so i'm back to the CCM unit.

So now i just have to find one.

The problem is the loom was in bad shape so i did replace a decent amount of it but i had all sorts of problems getting the Solder to stick to the old wire (had some sort of black corrosion all over the wire when the insulation was stripped back) The thing is i'm not 100% sure that there isn't anoth...

Well i took a trip into my VW dealers with the part numbers off the plugs and they where able to order in what was basicly a set of plugs with 3" of loom stuck out. I was told by the parts guy that it has been know for them to come with the colour wires in the wrong place or all grey wires but ...

The code reader has come up with Front drivers door central locking module and the boot solanoid faulty.

I think the Boot servo doesn't look too hard to fix but tbh i'm not even sure what the drivers door central locking module is?
