Route of boot release cable - saloon b5.5

Hi guys,
Wondering if you could help. The old man decided to remove the rear cable off his saloon b5.5 for me to order a new cable (end snapped).
Lo and behold he's forgotten the route of the cable. With the boot open, the cable attaches to the latch, then goes via the key lock and into the actuator - from what I can tell.
Does anyone have a photo of the exact route as it's got a ball half way up which I'm not sure where it needs to go and second how it attaches to the actuator (I pushed it in as far as I could tell but it pops off when I close the boot and press the switch)
