Intermittent brake pressure problem.

Hello peeps - hope you are all well?
Ok this months problem is as follows: very intermittently - maybe every tenth trip out - I have an issue where the first time I apply the brakes there is no pressure. Obviously I can get the car to stop eventually but its as if the ignition is turned off so its a bit "brown trouser" as you can imagine. Once this has happened it all works fine from there on in - just that single initial instance and thats it.
Only happens from the first cold start - rest of the day I can start and drive safely as many times as I like without problem.
No other symptoms whatsoever.
Any ideas what the issue might be?
