vr6 conversion, factory b4 immobilser problem

Just in the process of converting my b4 to ABV and when taking the dash out ice noticed a Siemens silver box behind the headlight switch. Now I'm certain its an immobiliser!!!
What's my options with this? Bare in mind I'll be using the vr6 ECU and wiring. Can I remove the immobiliser or bypass it?
