Avf power distribution

I've got a passat 2.0azm petrol which was 115hp when new.
Bought an ill avf 130hp passat.
When I boot it in my petrol is quickish but when booting it in tdi it's savage and feels like it should be 300hp + it's savage in the fact I was getting wheel spin in 3rd!!
Is this normal or is the MAF a bit ill? There's a completely broken breather hose on top of the engine but would that create this savagness? Wheels going everywhere from torque steer I gather?
Same age as mine but can't believe it's such a difference 15hp makes (when new)
I think I like the silliness of the power as its more entertaining even if it's not for very long until the gear change
