Ball joints

Having a nightmare got an 03 plate tdi failed mot on suspension bought full kit of eBay got my mate who's a mechanic to fit it takes it for mot retest fails again this time ball joints are moving all over the place turns out there are two sizes can someone tell me the size for my car
