Newbie & VW Finance

Hi all
First post, so be gentle
Have my first VW Passat after being a long term (13 years) Ford Mondeo owner (don't laugh).
I have a new b8 (I think you guys refer to it as) GT 190 and absolutely love it. Amazing deal as ex demo too but that's another story!
Anyway, amongst all the other stuff the dealer tries to sell you, like insure this and that, I actually did take out the fixed term maintenance contract. c£25 notes a month for 3 years for 2 std services and one large (each at 10K miles which is about my average) plus virtually any maintenance. So seemed like a good deal to me.
So off goes the DD mandate and then starts the problems! Has anyone spoken to VW Finance? he first guy I spoke to kept using acronyms I've never heard of and internal terms for stuff as if I should know what he's talking about. Totally useless and didn't solve issue. Turns out after speaking to bank that they never had mandate so the attempts to take first payment were never going to work. Now a lady at VW is in control (well seems to be) and is resending mandate and trying to get sorted. In the meantime I've had to pay 1st payment by card.
I'm now just waiting for the aggressive letter saying I've missed first payment and contract etc is at risk.
Interested if anyone else has similar issues?
As for the car, it seems to have more bells and whistles than even the dealer knew about (hence the deal I mention earlier) - such as premium 2 LEDs, lane assist, jam assist, ACC, dynasound (or whatever it's called) with HDD and 2 card slots, etc. etc. plus it drives like a dream and only had 3K on the clock.
Here's to many more VW miles - providing the Finance people get their act together
