volvo s40 2.0d problem. anyone here clued up on them..

Hi guys, i have been offered a s40 2006 midel 2.0d from my work for £150. Its been one of there company cars from new but it has a problem. The car accelerated on its own when driving so it had a brand new turbo fitted. 50 miles later it done it again so it was just left parked for the past year. Im buying it for £150 regardless just for the parts value alone. I would prefer to get it back on the road & use it. What would csuse the car to accelerate on its own? The guy had to turn it off & coast to a stop. If its a turbo problem what causes it to suck up & run on oil or any other common volvo problems that cause it ?? Appreciate any info as never had a volvo & know nothing about them
