Centre arm rest / cubby lid - should it lock in position?

Centre arm rest / cubby lid - should it lock in position?

Hi all

Can anybody confirm if the cubby lid/elbow rest between the seats should lock in position? Mine slides backwards and forwards, but migrates back pretty quickly, just wondered if mine is bust.
