Fuel And Temp Gauge Fault Help Please??

Post by scott180gtb »

On the drive home from work both the fuel and temperature gauge decided to pack up. The car is a 2003 1.9 tdi 130 with 162,000 miles and drives like a dream.

I pulled over quickly to check the water and oil and all was well and topped of as I expected.

I don't want to dive in and replace the sensors as it seems a little peculiar for both gauges to stop working at the same time.

I hate working with electronics but I can use a voltmeter. Can anyone point me in the right direction of the of the ohms required from the temp sensor and its location.

I'm also thinking I may have a wiring loom problem but no clue where to start.

Any hints would be excellent.
