B5.5 estate isofix same as golf?

Hi all, I've bought a mk4 golf pd130 for the wife as I was so impressed with my passat and the 03 golf has isofix brackets but not on the 03 Passat.
I've read the helpful how to and it looks easy enough to retrofit but instead of forking out £40 at the stealers I was hoping I could pinch one out of the Golf and have one bracket in each, but does anyone know if they are interchangeable? Can anyone help?
