Air Bag Light and Alarm Problems?

Can anyone point me in the right direction.
The electrics have been playing up on my 2003 tdi. The alarm keeps setting of intermittently. Some days its fine the next it gets me out of bed a 2 in the morning.
Also the Air bag light has come on. I have dropped the battery terminals off and re connected but the fault remains.
| assume I must have a fault and need the codes reading.
I have checked for damp carpets and I cleaned out the bulk head bungs last year when I dropped a new battery in.
Any ideas?
