will fitting towbar electrics invalidate warranty

I am thinking of fitting a bosal swan neck towbar to my 2012 bluemotion passat using a single universal electrics kit with a bypass relay. I will only use the towbar to tow a small trailer. Has anyone heard of this invalidating the VW warranty if the car developed an electrical problem at a later date.
