Thinking of lowering

Car needs lowering if I am wanting to improve its looks. its a highline
I dont drive like a twit around corners so im not really wanting to spend good money on a setup suited for that. Whats my best option? Salvage a setup from another passat sport? Get new or second hand springs? Do i have to worry about anything like mounts or the position of anything under the bonnet?
