Is this a passat engine?

this is the engine in my passat b3,
It is logged as a 1.8li but The lad who i bought it off said it had a 1.8 mk2 gti 8v put in but has no proof,
The engine number is RB5150 205 located under number 3 spark plug,
Is it a golf engine or just the normal passat engine
How can i check ? Can anyone help
