Speed displayed on radio

Didn't know you could enable the speed to appear on the radio! Shame its in kph though but anther little gimmick found in VCDS. Its enabled by selecting adaption channel 2 in radio - or when the radio is off hold down menu for 2 seconds then the power button and menu together for another two seconds.
Then turn the radio on.
VCDS does say that it will not work on all radios, I have a bog standard rcd300.
