Dual zone climate control

Just wondering if the unit has been modified recently. I picked up a saloon sport 170 a couple of weeks ago, with the dual zone climate control. Rather than having the little temperature markings on the left and right knobs as in the brochure, it has left and right digital displays about each temperature control knob. Far better IMO, curious as to the change?
