Por MPG and possibly related fuel temp sensor fault.

Post by slindborg »

When we had the october heatwave, after a period of idling stationary P1163 Fuel temp sensor - Open or Short to Plus occured.
I reset it with VCDS and the fault hasnt reappeared, nor has the sensor reading been iffy looking.

I've also noticed the long term average and also short average dropping by 10-15% in the past month, is that due to the air temps dropping?

Also as a side note, when the Ambient temp is less than about 15deg the damn thing white smokes a moderate amount at start up (this is definately unburnt derv as I've made a Transit do the same in the past when I got the injector calibration wrong lol), and then after about a minute of driving its fine and back to mild black smoke if you really try.

thoughts?
