Water ingress progress .... pt2

I will keep updating my posts as I fix the ingress errors
Just done some testing, rear door seals definately failed on the car. Poured a bowl of water on the window and rather than running behind window and out through door channels it's seeping past the foam seal that has most likely perished (see attached youtube video) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lk5nJV4DIEY
What should I replace it with, I have the genuine VW Sealing Cord about 6m left, or some good old RTV silicone sealant?
