car insurance rip off

just got my insurance renewal today,
all i can say is "they must be sniffing glue" or "something"
i meen come on, im 39 this year with a full clean licence since 1990
i have 10years protected no claims, & i drive a 1998 tdi passat,
and they had the nerve to quote me £800
anyone else in the same situation? or is it just me the insurance companys are trying to rob
