Upgraded to 3 spoke wheel, now horn stuck on..

As above, swapped my plastic four spoke wheel on my Passat B5.5 for a nice leather 3 spoke job, on the old wheel the 2 x horn wires would attach to connections A and B:
On the new horn the connections are shown A and B but if I connect the 2 x horn wires the horn is stuck on, didnt re connect the airbag at this point as I assume it wouldn't make a difference. Tried the horn wires the other way round and still the same.
Anyone any ideas, am I missing something?
